Job Purpose  

Ensure working of automation in Own Terminal works to its fullest potential following Operating, HSSE, Quality, Quantity, Maintenance & Statutory norms while handling petroleum products to serve the customers.

Responsible For
Officers in this cadre may be deployed to perform duties in any of the following functional areas:
  • Maintain and operate the Terminal Automation System (TAS) / Tank-farm Management System (TMS) to its full effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure that all the trucks are carrying the correct quality product and release them for onward dispatch.
  • Monitoring and controlling all parameters of pressure, temperature, levels, differential pressures and flow in normal operations.
  • Immediate attention to be paid for all the Alarms during the normal operation time and report the same immediately to the Terminal Manager.
  • Review the log on regular intervals and carry out the investigation for critical alarms.
  • Diagnose the system malfunction issues and take corrective actions for its satisfactory operation.
  • Co-ordinate with various OEMs for any system issues and resolve them in the quickest manner.
  • Study the existing process and suggest and implement the improvement / modifications in consultation with the Terminal Manager.
  • Prepare and maintain the various SOPs related to the control room operation and tank truck loading operation.
  • Maintain and control the various P&ID diagrams. Update the same time to time.
  • Maintaining long term process / mechanical isolation register, electrical isolation register, safety system bypass register, control room log book and parameter log sheets.
  • Controlling and maintaining all original documents, OEM manuals etc in the control room.
  • Imparting training related to various control function of control room.
  • Adhere to the HSSE Management System and ensure strict implementation.
  • Maintain the F&G System (HC, heat, Smoke, Manual call point etc.) in top order and carry out the testing at regular interval and maintain records.
  • Controlling and registering the work permits and verify that the work permits made precisely.
  • Change over the pumps, running equipment in coordination with field operators as per the schedule
  • Participating as a process controller during emergencies and turn around.
  • Coordinating with the Shift supervisor, field operators and the other maintenance dept crew (Instrumentation dept, electrical dept, mechanical dept and other contractors).
  • Be /act as custodian for Lock Out - Tag Out process and ensure strict implementation.
  • Attending safety briefings and pre-job safety talks and actively participating

Educational Requirements
  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical / Electronic / Instrumentation / Information Technology Engineering fields from a recognized institution.
  2. Minimum Eight (5) years relevant experience in Oil Terminal / Depot.
  3. Proficiency in Computer applications. Hands on experience on SAP will be added advantage.
